[ 24 มกราคม พ.ศ. 2569 - ครบ 60 ปีอาคารหอสมุดศิริราช - พิธีเปิดอย่างเป็นทางการ 24 มกราคม พ.ศ. 2509 ]

ในวันพุธที่ 21 มกราคม พ.ศ. 2569 งานหอสมุดศิริราช จัดงานพิธีทำบุญเนื่องในโอกาสครบรอบ 60 ปี อาคารหอสมุดศิริราช ณ โถงสร้างแรงบันดาลใจ (inspiration zone) ชั้น 4 เพื่อความเป็นสิริมงคล และเป็นการระลึกถึงคุณูปการของผู้มีส่วนเกี่ยวข้องในการพัฒนาหอสมุดตลอดระยะเวลาที่ผ่านมา โดยได้รับเกียรติจาก ศ.นพ.อภิชาติ อัศวมงคลกุล คณบดี คณะแพทยศาสตร์ศิริราชพยาบาล เป็นประธานในพิธี และ ศ.นพ.ธวัชชัย อัครวิพุธ รองคณบดี คนที่ 1 และผู้อำนวยการโรงเรียนแพทย์ศิริราช กล่าวรายงาน และได้รับเกียรติจากผู้บริหาร หัวหน้าภาควิชา/หน่วยงาน เข้าร่วมพิธี นอกจากนี้หอสมุดศิริราชได้กราบเรียนเชิญ ประธานมูลนิธิ China Medical Board (CMB) Dr. Roger I. Glass, MD, PhD, President, CMB และได้รับเกียรติจาก Dr. Thaksaphon (Mek) Thamarangsi, Chief Representative and Director of the CMB Bangkok Office ให้เกียรติเข้าร่วมในพิธีดังกล่าวด้วย โดยมี นางสาวบงกช ประกิตติกุล หัวหน้างานหอสมุดศิริราช ให้การต้อนรับนำชม 

อาคารหอสมุดศิริราชได้รับการสนับสนุนทางการเงินจาก China Medical Board of New York และงบประมาณจากรัฐบาลไทยเป็นจำนวนกึ่งหนึ่งของงบประมาณทั้งหมด การก่อสร้างเริ่มขึ้นเมื่อวันที่ 22 ตุลาคม พ.ศ. 2506 และแล้วเสร็จเมื่อวันที่ 18 พฤษภาคม พ.ศ. 2508 พิธีเปิดอาคารอย่างเป็นทางการ วันที่ 24 มกราคม พ.ศ. 2509 โดยได้รับเกียรติจาก Dr. Oliver R. McCoy ผู้อำนวยการ China Medical Board of New York ในขณะนั้น เดินทางมาร่วมงานด้วยตนเอง และได้รับเกียรติอย่างสูงจาก จอมพลถนอม กิตติขจร นายกรัฐมนตรีในขณะนั้น เป็นประธานในพิธีเปิดอาคาร การสนับสนุนอันทรงคุณค่านี้นับเป็นรากฐานสำคัญที่ช่วยส่งเสริมการศึกษา การวิจัยทางการแพทย์ และการเผยแพร่องค์ความรู้ของคณะแพทยศาสตร์ศิริราชพยาบาลมาอย่างต่อเนื่องตลอดเกือบหกทศวรรษ

[24 January 2026 – 60th Anniversary of the Siriraj Medical Library Building - Official Opening Ceremony: 24 January 1966]

On Wednesday, 21 January 2026, the Siriraj Medical Library held a merit-making ceremony to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Siriraj Medical Library Building at the Inspiration Zone, 4th floor. The ceremony was organized to bring good fortune and to honor those who have contributed to the Library’s development over the years.

The event was graciously presided over by Professor Apichat Asavamongkolkul, MD, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital. The event report was delivered by Professor Thawatchai Akaraviputh, MD, Deputy Dean and Director of Siriraj Medical School. The ceremony was also honored by the presence of senior executives and heads of departments and units.

On this auspicious occasion, the Siriraj Medical Library was honored to welcome Dr. Roger I. Glass, MD, PhD, President of the China Medical Board (CMB), together with Dr. Thaksaphon (Mek) Thamarangsi, Chief Representative and Director of the CMB Bangkok Office. The distinguished guests were warmly received and guided on a library tour by Ms. Bongkoch Prakittikul, Head of the Siriraj Medical Library.

The Siriraj Medical Library Building was financially supported by the China Medical Board of New York and the Thai government, each contributing half of the total budget. Construction began on 22 October 1963 and was completed on 18 May 1965. The official opening ceremony took place on 24 January 1966, attended in person by Dr. Oliver R. McCoy, then Director of the China Medical Board of New York, and graciously presided over by Field Marshal Thanom Kittikachorn, Prime Minister of Thailand at the time.

This invaluable support has served as a vital foundation for advancing medical education, research, and knowledge dissemination at the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital for nearly six decades.
